Freetown way

The scheme will see the footways on both sides of Freetown Way widened, between Witham and Blundell’s Corner, to accommodate safe, off-road cycle tracks, providing separate areas for both people cycling and for pedestrians.

Preston Road

The scheme includes the installation of off-road cycle tacks along Preston Road on both sides of the road, between Southcoates Avenue and Marfleet Lane, parallel to the footways, providing separate facilities for both pedestrians and cyclists.

Changes implemented

CYCLOPS junctions

CYCLOPS junction completely separates pedestrians and cyclists from motor traffic at junctions, reducing the possibility of collisions or conflict.
